First Pour.
Silicon Valley has spent months predicting AI will kill software. But last week’s ClaudeForce announcement tells a more nuanced story, IMO.
my video on this topic went viral this week 👇
Benioff announced the partnership with Anthropic live on TV last week, and to me, the deal shows he’s making two big bets:
First, he’s betting that Salesforce is too deeply entrenched in decades of customer data, workflows, and integrations to be vibe-coded into irrelevance.
Fair.
Second: he’s so confident in the above that he’s willing to relinquish the UI layer to AI. Because he believes Salesforce still owns the more valuable piece of that puzzle: what’s underneath.
That’s especially bold when AI labs are increasingly building software-like products of their own—including Claude’s release of Claude Code (despite their partnership with Figma).
It’s an important departure from the mainstream SaaSpocalypse narrative—and maybe a storyline that sticks.
Something to brew on.
